Explanation of file types received after a PF2D run

.PDF files:

1st and 2nd dimension file data saved to an easy to open and view PDF file.

.DAT files:

1st and 2nd dimension files that can only be opened on the PF2D software. Please keep these files in case you need us to use them for some reason in the future.

.ASC files:

2nd dimension files that can be opened in ProteoVue and used to make a .VUE file for Delta Vue (the older software version that is avaible on our Website for downloading).

.VUE file:

A file containing the 2nd dimension .ASC files. See the above explanation. We create this file for you to save you time, but we also want you to have Access to the .ASC files in case you would like to create a different .VUE File (for example: if you want to combine .ASC files from different runs).

.f1d file:

This file is for use with the newer "Mapping Tools" analysis software that is available for use in BRC Room 1217.

Plate Map Excel file:

This Excel file has two pages. The first page visually shows the placement of each 2nd dimension fraction as it is dispensed into the 96-well blocks. The second page correlates the fraction and well position with the time of collection so that you can find wells of particular peaks.

**Please note:

1st dimension files do not have an "_" with a number at the end. The 2nd dimension files have an "_" plus a number showing which fraction it is. There is only one .PDF and .DAT file for the 1st dimension, and there are .PDF, .DAT, and .ASC files for each of the 2nd dimension fractions.
